Bank Reinforcement - Abbots Bromley - 2016
A regular customer requested work to be carried out alongside his stream, to extend and reinstate the bank. The planting bay linings were constructed from Nicospan, a semi permeable material with Polyfelt geotextile which holds fine silt particles. Nicospan is excellent for vertical pond and river bank protection, providing an economical solution for erosion control, bank redevelopment, island and bank restructuring. Bentonite clay granules were layered on top of the subsoil and compacted into the bank to create a water tight seal, lined with underlay and then back filled. Oak stakes were driven into the Nicospan and lakebed to secure the build. The finished stabilisation bay was then dressed with locally sourced subsoil and turfed.
